The importance of a local newspaper

In this world of digital, 24-hour news and information, there are some of us who truly miss the ink smears on our fingers that comes from handling a real newspaper. We are bombarded with screaming headlines, live shots from across the world, and those pieces of information are important, but so much local news is being missed, being ignored. That’s where the hometown newspaper comes in.

Whether it is school news, city council meetings, honor rolls, or community events, a local newspaper is the heart and soul of a small town.

When Mr. Larson announced he would be starting the ETX Bell, covering local news in our area, it was an exciting day. Our community has enjoyed the return of a small-town newspaper that binds us together and shares the good news.
