My name is Viktorija Briggs. I am the Owner/Editor/Publisher of The Sheridan Sentinel, formerly The Hoxie Sentinel. We are a 140-year-old newspaper in Hoxie, Sheridan County, Kansas. We are the official newspaper of Sheridan County, City of Hoxie, and City of Selden. Shawn Larson requested a Letter of Recommendation from me as we worked together in a 2-person office for almost two years prior to his move to Texas in 2016.

Shawn hired me as a receptionist and to execute other office & newspaper duties. Shawn was the best supervisor I ever worked with, as I have almost always been self-employed with rare exceptions, because I ‘don’t work well with others as an employee. However, Shawn and I worked very well together. His office was always open and welcome. He, his wife, and I became friends as well.

Shawn is a person who does not ‘dictate’ but will listen – and hear – and offer advice, if requested. He is mild-mannered and soft-spoken, but no pushover. His presence commands respect and brings out the best in others. His strong faith guides his words and actions, and he is a true blessing of a person and supervisor. I highly recommend Shawn Larson.
