Shawn Larson is a seasoned media professional with expertise in multimedia communications, publishing, and community journalism. Since 2019, he has served as Publisher and Managing Editor of the Cass County Citizens Journal Sun, driving profitability and readership through a blend of traditional journalism and digital innovation.

With nearly a decade of experience in publishing weekly newspapers, magazines, and special editions, Shawn excels in content creation, layout design, video production, and community engagement. His leadership has led to increased advertising revenue, the establishment of a multimedia studio, and impactful community relations initiatives. He is proficient in Adobe Suite, web development, marketing, and SEO strategies.

Before his current role, Shawn worked with The Hoxie Sentinel Newspaper and Lite House Media, developing marketing strategies and multimedia projects. His professional training includes coursework from the Texas Center for Community Journalism, Front Range Community College, and New Horizons Learning Center.

Beyond journalism, Shawn has successfully managed multiple businesses, including a coffee shop, e-commerce ventures, and an electronics repair company, giving him valuable insight into local business needs. His community involvement includes envolvement in the Lions Club, economic development initiatives, and faith-based organizations.
